Mark to Andre:
If I may jump in Andre. ?To use your analogy, a clock is used to
measure the passage of time. ?The ticking of the clock represents
time. ?Without time there would be?no clock. ?

Existence and the levels are used to measure Quality. ?The way
things appear represents the presence of Quality. ?Without
Quality there would be no us.

If Quality has presence and direction, why not call it a force?

Andre:
Hi Marks, 'course you may jump in. The thing that gets me about Platt
refers to your second last sentence: 'Without Quality there would be
no us'.
Platt asks, and has a long history of asking: Yes, but what caused
Quality? since he continually says that 'there must be something else'
going on as well. My hunch is that he wants to see his own theistic
bent substantiated.

Hence my poor effort to suggest 'time' which through the mechanism of
the clock indicates just that...the 'passing' of time Why look for it?

The MoQ/Quality/Evolution...Platt wants first causes...a SOM question.
First causes do not exist. Look in and around you, before, after, NOW.

Q:What made it all start?
A;The start.
Q: What made the start start?

(Know what I mean?)

In this similar context I do not call Quality a force because then it
gives the impression that it does something of itself. That is why I
liken it to 'Love'. Is love a force? It is mighty powerful but to
describe it as a force is to give it a characteristic it, imho doesn't
have. It simply is...not this not that.

Anyway, I don't want to make a big deal out of it.I only felt like
teasing Platt for a bit!

Cheers
Andre
