Hi Mary, How about the obvious answer. The hot stove is intuitive, because the experience is direct, immediate. Bad government behaviour is sorta intuitive too, when we do experience it, but mostly we experience it through mediation, the interpretation of others.
Those media hava already made some intellectual interpretation before we get to experience it, by political publication choices, etc. Just like the hot stove stops being intuitive, and soon as we start to intellectualize the immediacy.
