The best statement Pirsig ever made is "All this is just an analogy". Of course it is. It HAS to be. All symbolic systems swallow their own tail, even the MOQ. The MOQ is capable of seeing this, though, while S/O thought keeps searching for the way to fill that blindspot permanently; such as by asking questions like "where does dynamic experience arise from?" Kudos, however, for another moronic pairing of SOM and "critical thought". Pirsig is one of the best critical thinkers around. The MOQ is a product of critical thinking. Indeed, I would say that you have a better chance of finding someone not beholden to S/O thought by visiting the academy than stopping by your local mall or downtown pub.
