Khoo to Andre:
I was just wondering if China had demanded royalties for all the
intellectual property rights to gunpowder, ice-cream, spaghetti and other
what not that Marco Polo took from China and introduced to the West,
how much would that amount to now ?

Andre:
Hi Khoo, I did not mean it pejoratively. It was just a nice example of
differing cultural interpretations about 'meanings'.

You are correct. The Chinese are very clever and we owe them much. I
just wished that the American financial advisors had listened to their
Chinese counterparts back in 2001 that things will go very wrong if
the, then current financial practices were continued. (the rest is
history...and still with us).

It seems that the Chinese economy and financial arrangements are doing
very well.
How much would that amount to now? China is already flexing its
muscles... and will continue to do so. Nothing woolly about their
intellectual level.

Kind regards
Andre
