Ron to Platt: But it seems you are saying that MoQ is based on SOM reasoning anyway.
Andre: Hi Ron, you are spot on and Bodvar argues exactly in the same fashion: that the MoQ is out of SOM, which it clearly isn't as Pirsig hints at (perhaps too subtle for the two gentlemen) in Annotation 133 which I will not completely reproduce except the final sentence:'It's just that I see a lowering of the quality of the MoQ itself if you follow this path of subordinating it to that which it opposes'. Further, this type of reasoning misconstrues the inductive reasoning/ empirical method employed at arriving at the Quality idea and also misrepresents the deductive process of developing the MoQ as a metaphysical program. As per usual Platt avoids and uses quotes if he doesn't really understand what the MoQ has to say because, for him, the essence of the MoQ is an endorsement of the free market system. This is all he is interested in. If he bothers to respond to this he'll find me a 'know it all' and ask me for my ideas on the 'essence' of the MoQ so he can, in response deposit his static neo-con/ foxy drivvel again. Bodvar, of course is on another mission.
