Pirsig is a GOOD writer. And a good writer like a good Asian chef does not present meat too tough to chew. He presents bite-sized pieces, attractively arranged, deliciously seasoned and cooked just right. That's what I found when I sat down to consume ZAMM and Lila.
We who gather here to discuss his ideas, like intellectuallizing. So does Pirsig at times. But it's a choice we make because we like intellectualizing. It's not something forced upon us by the inherent difficulty of the text. The MoQ just isn't all that complicated folks. In fact, its great beauty lies in its simple explanatory powers - bringing philosophy back to a true and simple expression of the human heart, where we are in this time and cutting through a lot of unnecessary intellectualized crap that's been foisted off on us. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.
