Well above all, Marx was intellectual. Which nobody ever accused Reagen of being.
And to my mind, you can't deny his world-changing value as a thinker. Perhaps if he'd envisioned the way his thinking would be adopted by others, he would have thought twice. But a man so causative of vast social change is a fascinating subject to study. From what I've read of him, I like Marx. I've even thought about getting a bumper sticker, "jesus was a commie".
