Andre said to Marsha:
... and I am not the only one on this discuss who suggests that his pov is a
detriment to the MOQ. Even Mr. Pirsig has said so!!! ( Annotn. 132/133)

dmb says:

Right. This is the part that bothers me the most. We have the author on record
saying that he thinks Bodvar has misinterpreted the MOQ in a way that
undermines it. I don't see how a reasonable person could dismiss Pirsig or
defend Skutvik on this point. It's hard to imagine how the evidence could be
more convincing. It's explicit, unequivocal and directed at his particular
misinterpretation.

And yet there are still people who follow Bo despite that. I can only conclude
that such followers are not persuaded by evidence and are not reasonable
people. Maybe they don't know how to evaluate things like evidence or maybe
they just don't care about its value. Since the consequences are the same
either way, I guess it doesn't really matter which road was taken.

I realize that's going to hurt some feelings. Sorry, but the obvious truth of
the matter takes precedence over such concerns. I could have tried to coat it
with candy but it seems even more insulting and condescending to sugar it up.
It even seems right, somehow, that people SHOULD be embarrassed by their
unreasonableness. We have no duty to respect goofy beliefs just because people
hold them. Quite the opposite.
