Okay, Marsha --

I'm a "cutie" for calling a correspondent who believes reality is nothing but relative patterns of quality a "nihilist".

My dictionary defines nihilism as "a) the view that traditional values and beliefs are unfounded and that existence is senseless and useless; b) a doctrine that denies any objective ground of truth and esp. of moral truths."

Sorry, Marsha, but I don't think this is quite what Pirsig had in mind.

What philosophical label would you apply to yourself -- that is, if you believed you had a self?
