It's the "taking off on a pupose of it's own" that is the problem, it's the
same
problem and mistake objectivism makes. The purpose of intellect is to find food
and defeat enemies, and to improve society.
taking off on a purpose of it's own is abandoning society. Destroying it not
improving it.
For an experiment, spend an afternoon blindfolded, self/other becomes blurred .
smells touch, temperature changes and sounds weave a tapestry of one experience.
