Arlo, I think Mr. Pirsig has gone beyond being a mere intellectual. I believe him to be a sage, a wise man, pointing the way to a paradigm shift from a self/objects way of thinking to a valuistic way of conceiving experience. Buddha claimed he didn't teach anything because he had nothing to teach. I trust Mr. Pirsig's judgment on this matter.
