I want to come back to the "Kill all intellectual patterns" Lila quote ... which keeps coming back to bite us all in the bum. I also want to respond to all the endless quoting from ZMM as if Pirsig's rhetorical words are somehow definitive argument clinchers. ZMM was almost 100% rhetorical, by Pirsig's own admission, but that doesn't mean Lila was rhetoric-free.) (I don't disagree with your interpretations ... I just want to clear some ground.)
