I think there are major differences on the European/(Belgium) jobmarket if i 
compare it with your story.

here it is illegal to fire someone, for a specific given reason, when there is 
a too big disproportion 
between the given reason and the attached consequences( getting fired), for 
example, throwing out an employee
for reasons of theft, when al wat he or she did , was stealing a carrot in the 
supermarket of the employer,
is a serious disproportion. the proportions need to be in balance.

Furthermore , the reason for firing that is given on one's official documents 
needed, must be congruent with
the real fact leading to dismissal .( the fine's are very high).

so for an example, when they fire me for economical reasons, and the real 
reason is that i was refusing to
wear my safetyshoes, i think they will have to pay me about a 3 years full 
salary, if i can prove it.

Yeah , well not much of a running commentary,.....due to this legal issues here 
(custody claim for the children of my wife's
brother).
The first appeal in court is for the 22th of this month, so very nearby.
my affadavit for court is about ninety thousend words......hope i win, even 
partially.
