Horse, You have given 2 reasons for your decision regarding Bo: A) Bo mis-represents Pirsig in regard to the MoQ & B) Bo is guilty of self-agrandisement.
But these 2 reasons are self-contradictory. Either Bo claims he agrees with Pirsig regarding the MoQ, so then Bo is not guilty of self-agrandisement. Or Bo is self-agrandising by accurately claiming Pirsig's view is different from Bo's. It seems to me neither A) or B) is correct, because B's position is that he agrees with Pirsig's metaphysics in ZMM, but not in "Lila". (It's as if someone argued that Wittgenstein was correct in the "Tractatus" but not in the "Investigations".) I think we must consider Bo's metaphysics, until the following argument (that I presented earlier) can be evaluated: An argument for SOL = Intellectual level: 1) The intellectual level is the manipulation of symbolic representations 2) Symbolic representation requires both something-represented & something-represented-to 3) Something-represented is an object 4) Something-represented-to is a subject 5) :. The intellectual level requires subjects & objects Craig Moq_Discuss mailing list Listinfo, Unsubscribing etc. http://lists.moqtalk.org/listinfo.cgi/moq_discuss-moqtalk.org Archives: http://lists.moqtalk.org/pipermail/moq_discuss-moqtalk.org/ http://moq.org/md/archives.html
