Hi Ian
Yep - Bo is incorrigible. And I didn't even need a 'Sorry'. Just an 'OK'
(sulky or otherwise) would have been sufficient. But I didn't really
expect anything of the sort.
Be that as it may, if Bo wants to play games then he can go out the
front door as he wishes. I have my best army issue, size 10,
steel-toecapped hobnailed boots all shined up and ready for immediate use.
Cheers

"Sorry" would have done Bo but you are, it appears, incorrigible.
Well done Horse. Do your worst.
I owe the group an apology too ... but as Horse pointed out ... Bo's
arguments are largely personal attacks, and I responded to one such
aimed at me personally, almost a month ago. Sorry.

your rules are to be complied with. If I start and end my posts with "In

without touching on what you use so many contemptuous call-signs for
(a beloved child has many names we say) ZAMM conveys it and
about half of LILA Strange that you chose to act the security agent
spending your day counting how many times a post contains the
forbidden words and how many posts a day per person. I don't fathom
why the "righteous" just can't ignore inputs that don't interest them -
Magnus' "stacks" died quickly - but I guess it's when I point to them
inadvertently trespassing into their own forbidden field that enrages
them so much. I guess you have to throw me out the front door, like
Phaedrus I refuse to slink out by the back one.

Thanks Platt, this put things in the right perspective, I feel a
bit sorry for Horse being caught with his pants down and his liberal
attitude so badly tainted.
It's the sound of the camel's back breaking. And here it goes again:
Anyway, the SOL refuses to go away for the obvious reason
that it IS the idea that the MOQ is founded on and all threads on
the MOQ will end there.
So for the last 10-12 years or so I've been very reasonable, very
liberal and very much inclined to discuss my decisions relating to the
running of MD and my reward for this has been to have a few members of
MD at various times shove shit in my face. So it stops here. And it
stops now.
I made what I thought was a reasonable request in a reasonable and
polite way and what I get is Bo being insulting, piss-taking and
derogatory. In addition to this, he also continues to ply the same
shit that I've asked him to cease in the same way that he has
continued to do so since the last time I asked him. Obviously making a
request (polite or otherwise) as the administrator and owner of MD is
not the way to deal with those on the list who think I'm some sort of
fucking sap!
As has been pointed out in the past, this is my house and my rules so
from now on when I make a request that someone stops whatever
behaviour I feel is inappropriate then that behaviour stops.
Immediately. If it doesn't then you're out - no argument, no second
warning. Re-instatement will only occur when an apology to myself and
the forum is received, as well as an undertaking that the behaviour
will not be repeated. If it is repeated then removal will be
permanent.
If you think it's amusing or clever to take the piss out of me,
criticize me, accuse me of censorship or generally make unpleasant,
derogatory or insulting remarks for doing my best to do my job (and do
it properly and well) as administrator of this list then you will
discover that you won't be participating in MD discussions any longer.
Similarly, if you want to play stupid word games with me over one of
my decisions or try and provoke or antagonise me for doing my job as
administrator you'll be removed without any warning whatsoever.
Hopefully, if you've read this far, you'll get the gist of what I'm
saying - My House, My Rules.
If you don't like any of the above then now is the time to re-consider
whether you want to continue to participate in these discussions. If
you don't feel that you can continue under these conditions then
leave.
You used to have an administrator who tried to be reasonable and fair
and tried to take everybody's opinion into account but, unfortunately,
due to the abuse of a few members (not just Bo) that person has now
retired and you have me in his place.
So Bo, I hope you're reading this because here's what you're going to
do:
If you want to discuss the SOL/SIM/SOLAQI (or whatever new acronym you
think up) then you make it _very_ _very_ clear that it is your
interpretation. You do not imply that the SOL has anything to do with
Pirsigs version of the MoQ. You do not state that the SOL
interpretation is the one true version of the MoQ - or state anything
similar. You do not interject into a conversation with your SOL
nonsense. You start a new thread. You do not post more than twice a
day with regard to the SOL interpretation.
The above also goes for those who support your position.
I would also greatly appreciate others not provoking Bo or his
supporters as this is unfair and unreasonable. I, and the majority
here, are sick to death of this incomprehensible and pointless
nonsense, so the less that you peddle it the happier most people will
be.
I'm sorry that it's come to this as it's not the way I would have
preferred but that's the way it is from now on.
Thank you all for your time
