Seems to be the same idea presented in "The quantum self".

I think it's really cool to hear about how science is at last starting to understand how nature uses quantum effects. One of these days, we might be able to do that as well in sane temperatures. For example, the Bose-Einstein-Condensate discussed in the quantum self only manifest its quantum effects at extremely cold temperatures, where the heat energy is negligible and the weak quantum forces can make a difference. But it seems nature have found a way to let quantum effects through even in normal temperatures. The article mentioned that they didn't initially believe that quantum effects could be involved because of it. When science find out how to do that, lots of cool things will happen.
