Mark,

My friend Bill had this book called "Gospel in the Stars" and according to
this book, the very plan of salvation - the whole virgin birth, etc, was
spelled out in story form by the grouping of the constellations and this
explains why we have the variations of the story in various early
civilizations.

I didn't quite buy that whole premise, but I thought it was an interesting
question concerning the earliest man's attempts to make meaning out of what
he saw in the heavens - how this influenced his mythos from the beginning.
I'll google it... see if I can find a link. Well, there are a lot of them.
Evidently it's not little-known. I remember the book used a lot of tthe
same astrological symbols, but with different interpretations.

Does meaning come from us? Or does it come from the stars? A good
question.

John
