Hi DMB,
> dmb says: > I honestly don't know what the difference is between denying the slogan and > refusing to use the slogan. I have the same problem understanding what you > mean when you say "we don't want to deny radical empiricism, we just don't > want to use it." I do not see any difference. Please explain. Steve: Candidate A once said, "you are either WITH us and my SLOGAN or you are AGAINST us." Candidate B had a more nuanced position. "I am all for SLOGAN if you mean THIS but not if you mean THAT. Though I agree with THIS and certainly mean THIS when I say SLOGAN, I am concerned that lots of folks would think that I meant THAT by SLOGAN, so instead of saying SLOGAN, I choose to say other things." Candidate A said, "I see no difference between saying you don't want to say SLOGAN for a bunch of nerdy egg-head reasons and denying SLOGAN all together, therefore you are AGAINST us." The voters of course agreed.
