Marsha to Andre:

Amorphous means to be without "definite" form.

Andre replied:
Yeah, BECAUSE (from my Oxford dictionary): 'shapeless', 'vague',
'ill-organised'. ... Is E=MC2, (an intellectual pattern of value) 'shapeless',
'vague', 'ill-organised' and therefore without definite form? ... In trying to
defend yourself you're playing with words again Marsha.

dmb says:
"Amorphous" means to be without definite form.
"Patterned" means to be with definite form, a regular, discernible,
intelligible, form.
Therefore, "amorphous" cannot rightly be equated with "patterned". In fact,
they are diametrically opposed concepts.

Similarly,...

"Static" means stable or persistent.
"Ever-changing" is the characteristic of a fluid, flowing, dynamic flux.
Therefore, "static" cannot right be equated with "ever-changing". In fact, they
are diametrically opposed concepts.

And yet Marsha says over and over and over again that static patterns are
ever-changing and amorphous. She continues to assert this despite the many
quotes from James and Pirsig, despite what dictionaries and encyclopedia say
and despite what is said by simple syllogistic logic and despite the
explanations offered many different MOQers. What should a reasonable person
conclude from this? As I see it, Marsha is either playing some kind of
dishonest game, she simply lacks the intelligence to understand any of the
evidence or logic, or she suffers from mental illness of some kind.

This is not my forum and I don't expect my opinion to weigh more than anyone
else's, but I am hereby requesting that Marsha, or anyone who behaves this way,
be removed from this forum permanently.
