They'e worked hard and sacrificed a lot to get the attention we give them.
To be accorded the same status as kings - to be left alone at will. Social
perfection, is by NO means "good". I speak her as analyzing the level
discretely. Consider that organizing principle of all social patterns is to
fit into a hierarchical structure - preferably at the highest. But some
people might aim at the lowest, and thus their attainment of that position
is in fact perfect. Think of pitcher who throws a "perfect" game. Does
that mean he never threw anything but strikes? No, it means he achieved his
aim. Sometimes, even non-zen archers hit the center of the bulls-eye, and
it might be luck, but it's still a perfect shot. You hit what you aimed
for.

What about money? Certainly, the essential value of money is not inorganic

> John: Money is celebrity. Most rich people are famous, and the real rich
ones who are still striving are all striving for the same thing - social
recognition - usually through doing good things with their money.

But fundamentally, Tukka, money and celebrity ARE the same, because money
relies upon social recognition of status. You could almost think of money
as an invention to transfer social status. What else would you say a dollar
rests upon?

But thanks for asking, Tukka.
