Hi Marsha, I am not a doctor, at least not the kind that would do you any good. I worked on serotonin in the CNS, which is very different from the periphery. So, I looked on Medline.
I would suggest you talk with your doctor about this one. Everybody has a different range for serotonin levels, and such levels can be raised by drugs such as the SSRIs (antidepressants). This could be nothing or it could be serious. If this was recently, check back in. Or, you could use the denial route. The thing about denial is that it is a long river through Egypt, and we have seen what can happen there. Let me know how it goes. I may be able to help you through that silly doctor-talk (they try to be oh, so-impressive with their stethoscopes around their necks, prancing through the cafeteria in their white-on-rice lab coats, pretending that the page from the One Above is for them - "(testing...how's my voice now guys? Take me out for Chinese and I'll show you a good time (if you know what I mean, Meeeooow)": Blaring out through the Bose speakers: "Dr. Gosigna, Dr. Dick Gosigna, and, Dr. Jack Mehoff, (cough, gag) please answer the white courtesy telephone when you are done with each other".) Don't even get me started, I went to graduate school with these guys; half of them turned into drug addicts. "Self" medication they called it. The only "Self" these guys had was prominently displayed on their (purported) ATM receipts which they just happened to drop by the nurse with the large CHEST who showed them her BEST bending over to retrieve that small white piece of paper being careful to hold that itsy-bitsy uniform close to her stair-master vise-grip thighs. "Original Sin" You might know of the original sin And you might know how to play with fire But did you know of the murder committed In the name of love - yeah You thought what a pity Dream on white boy Dream on black girl And wake up to a brand new day To find your dreams have washed away ... Dream on, play with fire White boy, black girl Dream on, in the name of love Black boy, white girl Dream on, the name of love - yeah You thought what a pity Original Sin -INXS OR Every time that I look in the mirror All these lines on my face [are] gettin' clearer [NOT!] The past has gone It went by like dusk to dawn Isn't that the way Everybody's got their dues in life to pay [especially you MD twerps] Yeah, I know nobody knows Where it comes and where it goes I know it's everybody's sin You got to lose to know how to win [Say-What you Honkey-Kong?] Half my life's in books written pages Live and learn from fools and from sages [Sidis or that Kantian?] You know it's true All the things come back to you [Dr bills, bills, bills] Sing with me, sing for the year Sing for the laughter and sing for the tear Sing with me, if it's just for today Maybe tomorrow the good Lord will take you away [if you know what I mean, Meeeooow] -frivolous hair-doo judge for American Idol (should have gone with Zohan, nobody messes with the Zohan") Regards, Mark On Sat, Jul 23, 2011 at 10:38 AM, MarshaV <[email protected]> wrote: > > On Jul 23, 2011, at 12:59 PM, 118 wrote: > >> Also, in a previous Ph.D >> attempt, I studied receptors in the brain, particularly those of >> serotonin, which is the foundation of consciousness, and, I believe, >> the seat of the soul. > > > Hi Mark, > > I went for some special blood work that came back that I had high levels > of serotonin.
