Hi Marsha,
A flash perhaps, but one has to prepare for it.  That is what the teachings of 
Buddhism are for, else wise they would not exist.  Mindfulness is one 
technique, I am glad that you like it, but it is not an end result, IMO.  
Buddhism is verified in the same way everything is.  It is the gathering of 
satisfactory evidence.
