Greetings, Did I mention that one of the two books required in this course is 'Chaos' by James Gleick. Professor Sapolsky mentioned that the book was a mind-altering experience for him, and after reading it he turned to chapter one to read it again. I think there are suppose to be three full lectures on the subject of chaos and, I think, randomness. It's all very interesting with even the very technical stuff presented in a lively manner peppered with amazing examples. Just finished lecture #8 'Recognizing Relatives', or kin. What keeps coming to mind is RMP's statement "You can always substitute 'B values precondition A' for 'A causes B' without changing any facts of science at all." I don't claim to understand the technical stuff to any great degree, but it is all fascinating, and additionally Sapolsoky's telling of the wars between the different schools of approach is honest and humorous.
