x-man,

Your question:

>>> What does it mean to sustain social patterns when following DQ?

Perhaps you think there is one right answer to the question, and you know that
truth.  What is it?

[X-man replieth]

Mostly its a criticism about how much of a sloppy reader you are, your
comprehension skills
are atrocious.
And here is why:
You did'nt even bother to really understand the quote in the first place and
make sure you knew
what it meant before you used it  as a "truth" statement.

You do not seem to understand that whatever you say is a worthy valuable social
pattern to sustain
It is going to be an intellectual pattern of quality. This trap is a
consequence of your point of
view. You just lost the arguement. No matter what you say the position is
contradictory and a
clear mark of a misunderstanding.

So Pirsig certainly cant mean kill ALL intellectual patterns both in SOM terms
AND MoQ terms
(as in the Pragmatic theory of truth which this quote is supposed to counter)

So it must mean only SOM intellectual patterns, those abstract concepts that
have no corresponding
experience, and NOT Intellectual patterns that sustain biological and social
patterns (pragmatic theory
of truth). So your attack on MoQ's Pragmatic theory of truth using the quote
"while sustaining biological
and social patterns, Kill all intellectual patterns" is baseless. Founded on a
misunderstanding of the quote.

. How can u make this work as a useful attack?

How do you explain?
