P.S. John, as you're so popular around here (no doubt because of your edgy,
high intellectual comments), I have just been informed by "Mr Square of Great
Britain 2012" that the birthday cake that appears at the end of that perceptive
documentary that was produced by BBC TV about my early 1990s squareness was
actually baked in 2014 by Dave Buchanan & Andre Broesen for YOUR birthday this
year and was amazingly transported back in time - on their behalf - by that
great theoretical physicist, cosmologist, author and Director of Research
at the Centre for Theoretical Cosmology (at Cambridge University), Stephen
Hawking!!!  The wonders of modern science, hey?

When you're not busy signing autographs for the folks around here (I know an
equally, rare event as time-travelling birthday cakes), also take a look at:

John Carl responded March 4th 2014:

 I didn't know that, Ant...

John,

Someone a little less charitable than me, might assume someone such as your
very good self (who joined a philosophy discussion group and never even took a
cursory look at the rules before making a contribution for the said group)
might suspect you of either being mentally ill, a moron, a disrespectful
arrogant p**** and/or a liar!  Of course, being the broad minded generous soul,
I can reassure you that no such thoughts would ever enter MY head...

John Carl continued:

But to tell the truth, I have a different perspective on what a social pattern
is...

Ant McWatt comments:

Evidently.

John Carl continued:

You look at the rules but I pay attention to the rule-maker...

Ant McWatt comments:

Well, you called me out on that one John and now I better admit to the rest of
the MD group that it was indeed  me that won "Mr Square of Great Britain" for
three years running (in 2009, 2010 and 2011 respectively)!

Even by the early 1990s (as a herbal cigarette smoking, psychedelic taking
sociologist and fine artist based in Liverpool) BBC TV were so impressed by my
squareness that they made a short documentary (just over three minutes in
length) about my life in immense detail which is now on YouTube.   It can be
seen (in my early years of squareness) via the following link:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmsLVaxyMqU

As you can see - in said documentary - I was still smoking cigarettes in the
early 1990s though to achieve my aim of winning "Mr Square of Great Britain of
2009" had to give them up New Years Eve 2009 to make my "Squareness" complete.

John Carl continued:

If Horse wants to cut me some slack because I've got a bit of catching up to
do, AND, he likes my jive, then he's gonna break the rules for me.

Ant McWatt comments:

Is he?  Do you want forward his e-mail reassuring you that your philosophical
thoughts are of such an edgy, high intellectual quality that you are immune
from the social static patterns of this discussion group which, of course, set
the boundaries (like the rules in the gammes of chess - another very square
pastime of mine, I'm afraid) to allow half decent discussions to take place?

John Carl continued:

The purpose of discussion is quality discussion... [ad nauseum]

Ant McWatt comments:

Is that social quality or intellectual quality, John?  I'm a little rusty with
all this Quality stuff since my "resignation" from MD last Summer so by the
sound of it - you're just "THE MAN" to remind good ol' Dr McWatt what a
"quality discussion" should be all about. I'm all Billy Shears.  Give it your
best shot.

Anyway, wife number one is already moaning (without me - I knew I shouldn't
left those bunch of bananas out) so I'm afraid I'll have to leave you to ponder
on that question.

Have a good night now.  I know I am!

P.S. I have had enough of bloody Platt and right-wing apologists for one
lifetime btw. They have gone a large way to fucking up this planet and
need to start taking a more responsible, less selfish "way of life". A
close scrutiny of the lives of the Buddha and Jesus Christ respectively
might be a good start pointing for such "lost" right wingers towards the
"right" way. In my very honest opinion!!!

You were perverted too
I don't know how you were inverted
No one alerted you
I look at you all see the love there that's sleeping

I look at you all
And still my guitar gently weeps."
