Greetings,

SORRY, COULDN'T RESIST.

JoVo, I got your posting simultaneously with my 'unsubscribe confirmed' posting and
wished I had got
it before that in order to answer it. So I re-subscribed for the briefest of periods
just to say one
or two things.

I spent a few years as a professional jazz musician playing in and around London (that
is my
'Romantic' side which people here have rarely seen and, might I say, it is far greater
than the
Pretti, Buchanan romantic side, which considers getting fucked out of your mind on LSD
as the
highest point of human existence). After one or two interim moves I now teach
philosophy, ethics and
critical thinking at a top English, fee paying, boarding school. My own area of
academic expertise
is moral philosophy and I spend my 'spare' time researching further into it and,
otherwise, playing
jazz music part-time as a semi-pro.

This weekend (23rd-25th June) I am playing in Samois-sur-Seine, a small village just
south of Paris,
celebrating the life and work of the greatest European jazz musician, Django
Reinhardt. If anyone
can make it, I seriously recommend it for the music, which includes some of the best
Gypsy Jazz
players in Europe, Bireli Lagrene, Titi Winterstein, Note Manouche, and from the US,
The Hot Club of
San Francisco + (back to Europe) Django's son, Babik Reinhardt and, probably, Jimmy
Rosenburg, Fapy
Lafertin etc, etc). This all takes place on a small Island in the middle of the river
and is simply
the best place in the whole world - actually the music is only half of it.

Check out, http://django.samois.free.fr/ for more details.

Oh, and the second thing JoVo (or Ian if he gets in first), I like your attitude very
much. If you
want my copy of Lila, then get in touch. I have no desire or need to keep it and will
post it on
very happily.

Thanks for the information about Lila being out of Germany. It is 'all good' after
all, and getting
better. Elias, I will look into. Thanks also for that tip.

Take care. Be assured that the waters will be calm from now on, JoVo. That will please
the
staticticians (yes, statiCticians) beyond measure. Back to the champagne for me!

Struan

P.S From this e-mail forward, if anyone wants to say anything which they want me to
see, then cc a
copy to me, otherwise, to me at least, it will be lost in the ether.
