Hi All
The first two (UK) online publishers that I tried both carry Lila and Zen and given
the
international nature of book sales (and increasingly many other products) I honestly
don't
see that because the British publishers decision not to re-publish has any bearing on
any
aspect of the MoQ - especially as to whether it is valid as a metaphysics or .......
anything
else for that matter.
Philosophy is not one of the most respected subjects in the UK and is (mistakenly)
seen as
a soft option along with such subjects as Sociology - mainly because they are seen as
subjective and therefore little more than a matter of opinion. In fact if you check
out the
toilets of many Universities you're likely to find something like "Philosophy degrees,
please
take one", scrawled next to the toilet roll holder (probably with several spelling
mistakes). I
think this probably says more about the British public than the subject to which it
refers.

Which conversations ? The completely incorrect notion that MoQ is not a metaphysics
or
the failure of Galen Strawson and others to understand that because there isn't a book
called
"Teach Yourself Subject Object Metaphysics in 14 days" that it therefore doesn't exist
- or
would it have to remain in print in order to continue to be valid. Come to that, I
haven't seen
much of Strawsons work around for a while - a few papers and such but little else.

However Jeffrey Archer - the epitome of all that is wothwhile in British literature
and a person
of such outstanding moral character - continues to be published and lapped up by so
many.
Do we now measure the veracity of an idea by the number of booksales that it generates.

It's a bit of tenuous link isn't it? A publisher fails to make sufficient dosh,
therefore the MoQ
is dead!!!!!!!! Whats next on the list?
