Good to hear from you! Well, I am hoping to publish some day but it seems
like the closer I get the further away it seems. You cannot believe the time
I had getting the manuscript to the point it is now...to the point where I
at least felt semi-comfortable sending it to Robert Pirsig. Do you know he
is the first person other than myself to read it? What if he thinks its
trash? I cannot help but thinking he was just being polite in writing Bodvar
about LC in the first place. I guess we will find out...
Diana and I are at odds over the whole deal too. It seems she feels slighted
and that I have been avoiding her, as she puts it. I am trying to make her
see that I have been avoiding everyone but she is difficult to reach and I
am sure she is thinking the same thing about me. She has never been a fan of
my work and now she no longer wants me to use her words or any reference to
her. Ouch. That hurts. But it is not insurrmountable perhaps. If Pirsig does
like what I have done so far, perhaps that will sway her opinion a bit? Who
can say? And if worse comes to worse I will just have to revise the
manuscript again to reflect her wishes. It can be done, but it will be a
job.
LC is not what I orginally had in mind anyhow. I wanted to pick the very
best posts from a broader section of the archives and not just the first six
months. So that is an alternative plan right now, unless Diana changes her
mind, again. (Have you ever known a woman not to? :))
