andrea, your theory on musicians makes a lot of sense. one thing that i cant
understand is how mozart could write violin sonatas when he was four. a four
year old mind obviously doesnt have the faculty of comprehending scale
structure and theory, but he nevertheless composed coherent work which
utilized those concepts. i dont htink his unconscious could have been that
developed... the presence of the unconscious faculty in music comes from, i
think, listenting to and analyzing other music, which he could not have done
too much of when he was four.
