[Platt] What moral "progress" do you have in mind -- all living together in communes, playing lutes, banging drums and swapping sex partners like baboons in heat?
[Arlo] The same moral progress Pirsig means when he called it a "moral revolution". But what's wrong with lutes and drums? Too "folksy" for you? When I was in Tuebingen (in Germany's Schwarzwald), I was impressed with the open art movement at the school there. Musicians playing in the street, actors performing skits and short dramas in the square, poets reading their offerings. I've also been to a few drumming circles that were really profound and opening (although I can't claim they were as much so as Pirsig's peyote trip). Are these bad things? I think not. These are things we need more of. More artists. More hippies. More "groove". Less "square". :-) moq_discuss mailing list Listinfo, Unsubscribing etc. http://lists.moqtalk.org/listinfo.cgi/moq_discuss-moqtalk.org Archives: http://lists.moqtalk.org/pipermail/moq_discuss-moqtalk.org/ http://moq.org.uk/pipermail/moq_discuss_archive/
