[Platt] I do not acknowledge the right of "We the People" to redistribute private income, jail dissenters or murder those because of their race or ethnicity. [Case] Without government wealth would be redistributed on the basis of raw force. Redistribution of wealth is what governments do, all governments. So if someone advocates overthrowing the government they should not be jailed? [Platt] I'm saying our health system is better than most foreign health systems. The evidence is the number of people with serious illnesses who come to the U.S. for treatment. [Case] This is from a 2000 report from the world health organization: "The U. S. health system spends a higher portion of its gross domestic product than any other country but ranks 37 out of 191 countries according to its performance, the report finds. The United Kingdom, which spends just six percent of gross domestic product (GDP) on health services, ranks 18th."
