Micah, You've made frequent reference to corruption. What does this term mean and can you give specific examples of it?

You're part of a corrupt system. And you haven't thought of anything new and you're out of ideas. I've heard your drumbeat before. Keep chanting. I heard the drumbeat in the 60's about change and look what that generation has become after joining the system to change it. No sizable voting strike? Then why are you bitching about getting out the vote? Oh, that's right non-voters aren't smart like you, they don't get it. They won't play along...Well, we don't want it. Keep chanting and continue to aim low. A president is to serve all the people, not just those that support him. I'm not complaining about Bush, I'm complaining about a corrupt system. You keep slipping into your chant, this isn't about which corrupt rich old white guy the system delivers, as it has for hundreds of years, it's about a bad system. Gandhi is the perfect example, because this system can't be fixed politically. That the Greens want in on corrupt system is enough to dislike. I'm tired of the chant, "well this is the best we can do". I won't chant with you. But you keep chanting, aim low, take baby steps and vote. And nothing changes. Or stop and think. Turn your head around. If I'm not mistaken, Gandhi could not vote, and India was a colony of England. His actions were active protests against subjugation from a system they could not change politically. As far as I know, there haven't been any sizable strikes at any polling stations in the U.S. during elections. where is the message coming from? If democracy is flawed, what other options are there that will lead to a better society, or even grant equal rights as to what we have in developed countries now? What system do you want Micah? How can you expect to wrest corporate sway over the government? The system to change that influence is already in place. It takes large numbers of people in a 300 million sized country, but it is doable. The less people vote, the easier it is for the unified conservatives to maintain a stranglehold of your country. Also, I am wondering what policies of the Green party you find disagreeable? Is this the "they" that have got me in deep? voting is an act in and of itself that can alter the corrupt politicians. the system is not corrupt, the government and the people who are the government may be (if that is the argument). The system is not perfect, and will hopefully continue to evolve with the help of people like M.L.King. Had more people voted , perhaps Al Gore would have won more concisively. Not that hes a godsend, but surely better than Bush. but no, dont play the game, and then complain when people like Bush and Cheney are in power to further they're own ideas. If the game is democracy, then I want to play. I vote every day with each dollar I spend (or dont spend) and the choices I make. I also vote in every election for the person who best represents my values. Bush is doing a GREAT job of that for his supporters. In fact, I would argue with that aspect in mind, G.W is the BEST president ever. However, seeing that I find his supporters morally decrepit and corrupt does not make me happy,.,, what are you doing to affect change on the system, from in or out? if its not voting.......
