Well, he said everyone knows what quality is although no one can define it.
Morality as generally defined refers to how people interact with one another at 
the
social level, i.e., "Love thy neighbor as thyself." But, Pirsig's view of 
morality
is that "Some things are better than others." So yes, at the social level it's
better to exchange values than to rob another for what you need whereas at the 
biological level its better to grab what you want while you can. At the 
intellectual level it's better (more moral)to be logical than not, and at the
inorganic level it's better to behave predictably unless you are a quantum
particle. So perhaps you can think of Pirisg's morality as having extended the
usual meaning to realms heretofore considered morally neutral. 

That's how I see it, but others may express it differently ... or better. :-)
