This is an area that's not been discussed all that much here. Or has it? From an MoQ perspective an individual is an amalgam of organic, biological, social and intellectual elements all affected by an all- pervading force called dynamic quality. Correct? I believe from Keating's perspective an individual is a person whose Identity is established by their relationship with the Other. [Case] That seems like a pretty vague description of "you". Could mean anything. But it would seem likely that whatever it is it should be in relationship to its environment.

[Case] I guess Daniel Boone said it best, "Some days you eat the bear. Some days the bear eats you." [Kevin] I believe Keating is saying that the Other (capital O) is God, the source of everything. One fails to become the Other in the same sense that one can not become the source of everything. [Case] That is rather the problem with defining things isn't it? It's just a hop and a skip away from setting unreasonable goals. How does changing its name from Other to God enhance our understanding of it? Does it provide some insight into the nature of Other? > [Case] > What do you think it is pretending to be? [Kevin] A road map of morality. [Case] If so it is a pretty sketchy map. More like a sketch of what such a map might look like. But look at these threads. Every one seems to be pointing at the map but can't even agree on which way is north. moq_discuss mailing list Listinfo, Unsubscribing etc. http://lists.moqtalk.org/listinfo.cgi/moq_discuss-moqtalk.org Archives: http://lists.moqtalk.org/pipermail/moq_discuss-moqtalk.org/ http://moq.org.uk/pipermail/moq_discuss_archive/
