Craig, Say the light produced by the sun and a flashlight are the same, are you "aware" of the difference? Is a photo cell "aware" of the difference?

Just as you could invent/design a photo-electric cell to react differently to light from the red end of the spectrum than to light from the blue end of the spectrum, you could invent/design a photo-electric cell to react differently to sunlight than to a flashlight, if there was detectable difference in the light each produced. Any other difference between the sun & a flashlight would not play a role.
