According to esoteric thought, the octave based on auditory sounds, is the model for a hierarchical order. In this scheme there are two further steps in an evolution of consciousness a higher emotional, and a higher intellectual order exemplified in the history of enlightened individuals, e.g. mystics, philosophers, prophets, artists, etc., not mechanical types.
