Hi DMB,

I knew it was bad idea to drop in that long missive just before
disappearing for a couple of weeks on the road ... I'll repond to just
two points ...

You said
"Sorry Ian, but you don't get to decide what words mean. You can only
decide to use them properly or not."

And you said
"I mean to insult your intelligence on account of your apparent
obliviousness to the cultural, historical and philosophical meaning of
these phrases."

Second point first
You miss my point earlier explaining that I am in no way oblivious to
such meanings, in fact that's where all (most?) meaning comes from
generally, and those specific terms I already made clear I understood
the usual meaning. When I ask, it's not out of ognorance, but in the
slender hope that someone may be interested in evolving language from
old stalemates.

First point last
No-one decides meaning (see above), but I am entitled to use words how
I choose to use them, and risk misunderstanding in an effort to make
progress to new meaning. You don't wanna play, that's fine. Just keep
hurling the abuse as per your intent.

OK another point
You said I said
[My] comment about social darwinism, which you said you were
comfortable with at any level in the MOQ.

I doubt it. Could you gimme the specific quote.

Ian
