Don't know, certainaly the article asserts that they made a choice, would you
say that "choice" is a property of consciousness?

Sure humans caused the stampede, but then

Are you suggesting ("") that the dog mimics the outward behavioural pattern of
a human and thus looks like it must be thinking? Interesting idea, but isn't
there a simpler exlanation available?

Typical, humans make

Finaly we're getting somewhere!

Unlikely.

No. but....
Irrespective of where the experimental dog got it's capacity to think from, do
you agree that it has it now?

I could spiral

In whatever way you find yourself best able to offer criticism of the article
you should try, if sarcasm is the best you can do, lets have it.

Thats strange, above you seemed to accept that they did but qualified by the
assertion that it was derived from human contact. Is your line is blurring?

What happens if a chimp (say) learns (under the careful tuteliage of man) to
use a lever, and passes that knoweldge on to its offspring. Is that "thinking"
characteristic still perculiar to the man or is it now "proprietry" to chimps?
(you must presumably be aware of the well documented cultural differences
between neighbouring animal groups of the same species)??
