[Arlo,]

What do you think about Bill O'Reily's recent comment, "... there will
be unintended consequences [of the Immigration Bill] all over the place.
The new census report says America's now one-third minority. And in four
states -- California, New Mexico, Texas, and Hawaii -- whites are the
minority." (Bill O'Reilly)?

Does this (whites becoming the minority) give you, as it does Platt,
cause for concern?

[Ron]
I think the majority of americans say "De Nada" to O'Reilly's concerns,
(joke)
"american" is not exculsive to one race or creed. The fact that our
borders are
so easily comprimised gives rise for some concern. This problem has been
largly
ignored for quite awhile. Probably due to large cheap labor forces.

[Marsha]

So what do you do when a person, people, or a country you care about
seem to be behaving badly? What do you do when reason doesn't seem to
be working. I think a Buddhist might say to act responsibly yourself,
and chop wood & carry water. But I'm not a Buddhist, so I could be
wrong. And of course there are the actions I am blindly performing
myself that also add to the problems. I mentioned the MIddleEast and
the environment, but there are other ways of defining the problem. And
when I start looking at them, the problems change and grow
exponentially. HELP!

BTW, to care about a person, people or a country is attachment.

[Ron]
I like Platts comment, not much to add, but this:
to begin with yourself may mean to bring peace to yourself and let it
flow out
into the world instead of perpetuating stress with friction. when we
choose
to influence rather than to fight we may grow with a problem to over
come it.
