As I discussed with Marsha in this thread, how
knowledge/epistemic gets stuck on social level, I
don't know. That's a leap that places taste, as in
your apple example, as what kind of knowledge? To
dart as a moth does towards light and away from
darkness (and sometimes to ones death: fire), this is
a knowing on what level? I still find the focus to
be, a focus upon VALUE, and that will help more than a
focus on knowledge.
Knowledge contains inclinations that are subject
caused and objects caused, unless, knowledge is
knowledge based upon value, right? Knowledge based
upon mystics is 'don't define'. Knowledge based upon
logical positivist is 'objects causation' (for
example: the physical brain and nervous system would
be where you'll find knowledge, which leads into
instinct, and thus, plants wouldn't have knowledge in
this line of thinking, etc...) A focus on value is to
value intellect, that defining based activity of this
world. Valuing society, those group activities, that
we could reflect upon on the intellectual level.
Valuing biology, which we could reflect upon on the
intellectual level: biology, etc... This study of
biology is a value not based only on the intellectual
level, but the biological level is present, too; and
don't forget how society made this science possible by
groups of people gathering data, building the
technology to know more, etc... The value is neither
subject or object based exclusively. Knowledge
according to value is valuable wherever we get it.
How is knowledge only on the social and
intellectual and not biological and inorganic?
Without this physical brain and atoms joined in carbon
combinations knowledge would not be found. Knowledge
is found on all levels in its' static pattern of
value. Static patterns organize and knowledge is
here. I'm not leaning mystical or positivist, thus,
not in the 'not defining' and not in the 'objects'.
It is not the thought or the stove, but the value that
makes one jump. Knowledge seems to depend on and thus
metaphysically exists as a reality due to all levels
for human beings. Studying knowledge (epistemology)
and its' reality will be valued upon each level,
right?
