I am not going to get into the intelligent design being taught in science
classes, I just want to comment about the school prayer thing.

Today on the news they showed a Hindu priest trying to give an invocation
for the opening day of congress while hecklers interrupted him until the
sergeant at arm was called to evacuate the noise makers.

Here is my observation.

I went to a private Greek Orthodox school as a child. At the beginning of
the day we all stood up and a prayer was said, if the class was a French
one, the Lord's prayer was said in French, if it was an Arabic one the
Lord's prayer was said in Arabic. As we got a little older, the teacher
would say "each pray to his choice."

That was a private school, and they can do as they please, but
recognizing that the classroom had: Greek Orthodox, Protestants,
Catholics, Maronites, Sunni, Druze, Shia'a and so on, it was just a nice
little courtesy to say that you are all respected, and go find your own
god. It also says that I am not threatened by your believes, they are
yours and I know that will not try to push them on me. That was
absolutely the biggest taboo in that society, trying to convert a friend
or a neighbor.

Unfortunately, religion has become a hot political issue, especially on
the international stage. As the old saying goes, the deeper the
conviction the deeper the blood [spillage] will be.

What I see happening with the religious issue, is that the majority is
suddenly finding itself becoming a minority. As was demonstrated today on
the congress floor.

That is life. It's dynamic and forever changing.

If the rules are set so that no religion has a stronghold on society,
then it won't matter who gets into power, the God value is set to nil and
all can live.

Why so you think the insurgency in Iraq is growing. Not to drive us out
of there, but rather because certain people woke up one day and found
themselves in the minority. And if Democracy is to rain supreme, that
will cement their position in the minority.

Back to the states and where we are heading.

Look at our demographics and where we are heading.

That goes for Religious affiliations too.

See, there is this thing that I coined the "bedroom war", and like it or
not it's the final decisive factor. No ands, ifs, or buts.

Yeah you can say the world is turning a shade browner, as for religion
the jury still out on that.

Meanwhile, everyone is trying to hold their high ground.

Just some thoughts
