I worked for a while with spiders and was also unable to find any
mophometric bibliography, except for one or two descriptions of
species using linear measurements for taxonomic purposes. I don´t
think that there is more to it.

Anyway, about scale, you should take the picture of the object of
analysis in question WITH a proper scale. That way you exclude any
error due to different amplifications or camera angle. TPSDig allows
you to place landmarks and extract scale from the same picture.
