Dear Diege and others!

I simply switch the camera to self-timer (e.g. 2 sec) to prevent camera
shake when taking images.

Cheers,
Juergen

I want to add that you should invest in a remote switch
recommended
by your camera model, e.g., Canon RS60 E3, which may cost
$20-$30
exta. It will save you a lot of time during shooting and it is
a
further measure to prevent camera shake, in addition to the
tripod,
     which is a must-have!

Of course, I forgot that !. However, i found out that some SLRs,
even
entry level, can be controlled via USB cabel. That means that you
get to
see "live" on a computer or notebook screen what you are about to
shoot
(great for checking alignment of small stuff), you control the
shutter
release from the computer, and images are dowloaded directly to
your
hard disk.
Cheers
Diego
