Thanks everyone for the responses. It looks like Momocs will do what I need. One other question if I may, I’m trying to create a pipeline of data acquisition from a common garden to elliptical fourier descriptors. I’m thinking of making a box that an SLR (or some other camera) fits into and photograph single leaves on a white background. I would rotate each leaf at the same orientation and keep the scale the same.
With a batch of images created in this way, collecting the EF data should be quite simple, right? Does anyone have any advice for such a cradle to datafile pipeline? i intend to sample 4 leaves from 2000 trees and I’ll have at least 1 other person with me. Rigs/boxes to use? Lighting? Camera mount? Software to make photo-capture from a computer easy?
