Dear Lydia, The only software I know that can be useful for taking accurate measurements of digitalized images is "ImageJ". Try searching for this keyword in any internet search engine and you will reach the place from which you can download this software and its modules, since it is distributed freely.
Be careful with the issue that you are working with "soft" tissue, which is susceptible to change in form due to heat or other factors, this can affect your measurements and introduce unwanted error.
