Both of my own sons are LD in reading. My youngest does read at grade level, with a few mods. He will read an entire video game code book, all the rules and regulations for his Science Olympiad events, but will not read a "real" book unless forced to do so. He just doesn't get pleasure out of reading for readings sake. I think perhaps that he sees reading simply as a way to get the information he needs right then. He is an A/B student and takes honors Math and Science classes. He is currently a sophomore and is in his third math class while in high school. Right now he is in Algebra II and will have Pre-Calculus in the spring. He is 46 out of 511 in his class. He is much better at Math and Science then I ever will be. Everyone truly does have different strenghts.
