Sorry about the cross post, but I'm hoping to draw from the widest possible 
pool of experts for help with a particular student.
   
  Does anyone have or know where I can get information about educating students 
with learning differences associated with lead poisoning? I have a student with 
lead poisoning levels more than double the high end of the spectrum. I've 
googled several different ways, but keep getting information about prevention. 
   
  Are there any specific things I can do to help her? She seems very motivated 
to learn, has a sweet disposition, but has little support at home because of 
socio economic reasons. Mom and dad work very hard, and have four other 
children (two with a similar problem).
   
  What I'm noticing is that she requires step by step support. For example, she 
needs a prompt for each step of a math problem. She can do the steps, but can't 
seem to remember that there are steps she should take. When reading, she has 
98% accuracy on grade level text, but with sparse retell that includes mostly 
details about the last sentence in the text. 
   
  Mom says she has difficulty at home, for example when getting dressed they'll 
tell her to put on her pink shoes and she'll go in her room and stay for more 
than a few minutes, and come out without shoes on. (She only has 2 pair of 
shoes, and wears the pink ones almost every day) She struggles with spatial 
concepts (next to, below, on top, inside, outside, etc.)
   
  I'd like her to become more independent, and not lose her motivation for 
learning. Also, I have 5 other students who are at least one and a half grade 
levels behind and have significant learning differences or cognitive defecits. 
Two of these students are barely reading on a first grade level.
