I think I'll weigh in on this one. Actually, there is a test. My son is a pediatrician which is how I know about this test. Unfortunately, I've forgotten the name, but I'll get it and post later. ADHD is a medical diagnosis and pediatricians are taught that they diagnose this with multiple data. (kind of like us, theoretically) Anyway, the pediatrician must get observational data from more than one source (parent, teacher, child care provider, whomever), but can then also get results of this computer-administered test (which is often done by a psychologist) before he/she makes the diagnosis. I'll get more info. Anyway, the standards of the profession "require" a physician to do as I described--we all know, however, that there are many who don't follow the standards of practice. All this is very interesting to me because I've never seen a child on a 504 because of ADHD. I guess I really do live in "the outback." Bev
