HI Cara,

Off topic! I am sorry but it is so unusual to see someone else
with my last name!!
Travaglini- is certainly not common. I live in New Jersey and have been
teaching for 19 years in Lumberton. I have been teaching 4th grade for
four years now.

Subject: [MOSAIC] Cara

Hey everyone!

My name is Cara and I am currently taking an early literacy class and
one of the assignments was to join a Listserv and ask questions that I
may have about early literacy.
I am currently an undergraduate student at the College of New Rochelle.
I have little experience in a classroom, however I have experience
teaching horseback riding for five years and through many of my
education classes have found many parallels.

My question to anyone who can help is:
I have been learning about the importance of evaluating a child's
ability as well as figuring out how to move that child forward. I'm
sure I'm just intimidated but this is where my questions comes in. How
do you plan your lessons if you have 25 different students with 25
different levels of literacy? This may sound silly to many of you but I
don't have the experience of being in the classroom and I don't
understand how to teach and plan lessons and activites around multiple
abilties of multiple children. (I don't know if this is clear by the way
so if I need to be more clear or detailed let me know)

Thanks!
