Malak My experience has been that the 'lower level' readers are not necessarily lower level thinkers. The right text is key here. There are many beautiful picture books that are appropriate on many levels. Anything by Patricia Polocco for example. You will just want to differentiate texts when the kids actually practice applying the strategies. Jennifer
Hi, my name is Malak and I am taking a summer course with Dr. Nancy Creech. I thought it would be appropriate to jump into the conversation regarding measuring understanding. How can I accommodate higher-level students and lower-level students during a think-aloud without having either group of students disengaged because it might be too boring or too complex? -----Original Message----- From: Malak H Saab <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Mosaic: A Reading Comprehension Strategies Email Group <[email protected]> Sent: Mon, 4 Aug 2008 11:29 am Subject: Re: [MOSAIC] Measuring understanding Hi, my name is Malak and I am taking a summer course with Dr. Nancy Creech.
